FAQ's

If you were wondering...

What happens at my first appointment?

At your first appointment, we’ll begin with a 15-minute consultation to help me understand what brings you to The Retreat, check for any medical concerns, and create a personalised treatment plan. Your booking confirmation email will include a consultation form – to make the most of your hands-on treatment time, please complete, print, and bring it along with you.

To help you ease gently back into the world after your session, you may wish to bring something comfy to change into afterwards – many clients like to do this, especially after evening appointments.

Your privacy and comfort are really important to me. I’ll always tuck soft linen into your underwear to protect your modesty and clothing during your treatment. If you’d prefer, you’re welcome to wear shorts, your favourite granny pants, or I can provide disposable underwear if needed.

Before we begin, I’ll make sure you're comfortable with bolsters, cushions and blankets if you'd like them. I’ll then leave the room to give you time to get ready in peace. Don’t forget to switch your phone to silent so you can fully enjoy the experience of stepping away from everyday life for a while.

After your treatment, we’ll spend a few minutes discussing any findings or recommendations, along with personalised aftercare advice to help you make the most of the benefits.

Where are you located?

The Retreat is based at the bottom of my garden on the peaceful Rangewood Road Estate in South Normanton. I don’t have a waiting area, so please arrive for your appointment time as best you can. You can always say hi to the horses in the field opposite my house if you’re early. There is plenty of free parking available in our cul de sac too. Please be respectful to our neighbours when parking here.

There is a small step down from the driveway and a step up into The Retreat, if you will need assistance then please let me know in advance.

What do i wear for my treatment?
  • Massage: You’ll be asked to undress to your underwear so that I can work effectively with your muscles. You’ll always be covered with towels, with only the area being treated exposed, to ensure your comfort and privacy.
  • Reflexology: You’ll remain fully clothed; I’ll just need access to your feet (or hands if it’s hand reflexology).
  • Facials & Indian Head Massage: It’s helpful if you wear a top that allows easy access to your shoulders and décolleté area.

The most important thing is that you feel relaxed, so choose clothing that’s comfortable and easy to slip on and off. Your comfort and dignity are always respected throughout your treatment.

Can i book online?

The best way to book some treatment time with me is to message me directly on 07305 399 253 with your preferred days and times to fit around your commitments and I’ll check my diary. Alternatively visit our get in touch page and fill in the contact form to let me know what you would like to book.
I like to retain control of my diary to offer my clients flexibility on their appointment times.

Can I park at The Retreat?

Yes! There is free on-road parking right outside.

How do i pay for my treatment?

So you can appreciate the full benefit of your experience at The Retreat and concentrate on nothing more than floating home afterwards enjoying your post treatment glow, I encourage all of my clients to pay in advance by bank transfer. All the details you need will be detailed in your booking confirmation email once you make an appointment.

What if I need to cancel my appointment?

Don’t worry if something crops up and you are no longer able to make your appointment. As long as you provide more than 48 hours notice that you need to cancel you will receive a full refund. If you provide less than 48 hours notice then of course I will consider your reason for cancellation, but generally your payment will be retained, or your voucher/ pamper plan minutes redeemed as a late notification fee.

First of all please check your junk folder as sometimes I like to hang out in there, if I’m not there then please contact me so I can check I have the correct email address for you and I can forward it on to you.

I haven’t received my digital voucher

Make sure you’ve checked your junk folder as sometimes I can pop in there.

Get in touch as I can always re-send it to you.

Can you diagnose what is wrong with me?

No. As a therapist I am not able to diagnose or cure medical conditions. I will discuss with you how your body feels after treatment and may refer you on to a medical professional but if you have specific questions regarding a medical condition you should see your GP.

How do I get the most out of my appointment?

Don't be afraid to ask for adjustments whether you need to feel more comfortable, need a change of temperature or a different pressure this is your time so I would much rather you feel like you're getting the most benefit from your treatment.

Also if you feel like you want to drift of to sleep then follow your body, if you're feeling relaxed your treatment will be a whole lot more effective and don't worry about snoring - it's the biggest compliment I could ever receive!

Can I pay for someone’s treatment in advance?

You are welcome to purchase a gift voucher for an amount of treatment time or a specific monetary amount. Gift vouchers are valid for a 6 month period and the perfect way to let them create their own relaxing experience.

Ask me for a voucher at your next appointment or get in touch and I can email one through.
